  Ingredients of the summer rolls were well balanced and tasty. Beef pho's broth was delicious but the beef slices were just a little thicker than those you usually get in Vietnam. It would be great if the optional condiments had included some bean sprouts as well. Bo bun was refreshing and appetising. Vietnamese dessert was a tapioca paste (sago) with peanuts and coconut shavings - it wasn't too sweet so to my liking. Some of the reviews here mentioned about the poor service but I think they were just unfortunate. The waiter for my table was very helpful and kept checking that everything was OK. I did notice another relatively inexperienced waiter who was perhaps still familiarising with this new job.   I ate here twice during a recent trip to Porto and had a great experience both times, once alone and once with a friend. Reasonably priced, delicious food in a lovely environment. The back garden is a relaxing place for a summer dinner. Drinks were delicious and not too large. Mojito was full of fresh lime and mint and just sweet enough. Lots of vegetarian options as well as non-vegetarian dishes that are full of vegetables. After 10 days of meat centric restaurant meals in Porto, I was really happy to have so many vegetable options.   We have walked a long distance and trying to get some real pho. Unfortunately I feel extremely disappointed about their pho. For 15 euros, you only get few slices of beef and the soup has no flavor at all, no smell of fish sauce , no beef ball, no basil, no mint, no bean sprouts，just full of disappointing.   I do not understand the amazing reviews. It was alright, but it's far from authentic vietnamese flavours. If you have lived in Vietnam and are looking for the real thing, this is not it (like offering bún thịt nướng but with only a chicken option). I had bún bò nam bộ, but it didn't have any lemongrass taste while it's supposed to be the main part of the dish? Also no fried onions and the nước chấm was very watered down.   I never thought that a single server in a restaurant could ruin a nice experience until I went to VietView. For a moment I thought I was in one of those places that you pay for the servers to yell at you, but this wasn't the case. I'm not sure if he's Portuguese or Brazilian, but when he talks to customers he puts on this arrogant annoying fake british accent. He treats customers like children and he's always talking loud and even shouts to his colleagues (Who were all extremely nice) Maybe he's the owner, who knows.   This is the best northern Vietnamese food outside of Hanoi. Literally everything on the menu is delicious. The Pho Bo (beef noodle soup) is particularly amazing: the broth is very tasty and the ratio of noodles to beef is perfect. (I prefer the carnivore option, but I have friends who absolutely adore the vegetarian pho) My second favorite is the Bun Cha (Obama) - vermicelli rice noodle with bbq pork and vegetables.   Been here 3 times so far. Excellent food! The eggrolls are different and delicious, hard to explain, more like "home made" than manufactured I guess? I had pho everytime, and last Visit also had bùn chà (not sure of spelling) you also can get some of the exported version of Saigon beer, which helped me remember my visit to Vietnam 2 years ago. The owner's wife is from North Vietnam so their dishes/pho follows that regional style. Staff: is very friendly. Space: i think you can have maybe 20 people max in the restaurant, they have 2 areas. All in all, a place I like to come back when I want some Vietnamese food here in Porto. And if i was in Portugal and I had to have some Vietnamese food, this would be the place too.   Had a dinner this week for our Christmas (6 of Jan). Ok, but not like I expected. Place was empty. Stuff is nice and polite. Menu without photos, would be nice to see how dish is looking Both of us found the hair in our roll (!!!) - long hairs that don’t belong to the stuff that were there same time, so I’m interested of how the process of preparing food is happening, seems like other people cook rolls in advance. They solved it in the good way - exclude roll from our bill and offer the dessert ( normal practice for this case). “Pho bo”soup was ok, but not hot ( temperature) and had a lot of fat on the top of the water ( I never saw this in another countries) Not sure I will go more time to this place.   Overpriced food. The person who served us was very unprofessional in an awkward , intimate way, even criticising the restaurant's own food. He was also in a loud conversation at the table by our side. I could not listen to my friends and have a quiet moment. It is a pity , because the place seems nice and has a cool backyard and the food is simple but tastes good.The place has a lot of potential but it’s a shame about the bad service.   We enjoyed our dinner in the lovely back garden area. Wonderful food and service. My vegetarian wife had a veggie spring roll that was delicious, fresh, and quite large. I had the beef pho, with an egg added per my request. A friend tried the shrimp soup and we also split a beef and noodles wok dish since he was previously unfamiliar with Vietnamese cooking. With sodas , our tab was about 75€. I think that is a bit expensive but there is certainly nothing to complain about with the quality of the food. We will definitely return, though perhaps not as often as we might like to were the prices more reasonable.   This wonderful Vietnamese restaurant opened its doors April 2019. I was in Vietnam October and arrived here craving an alternative to the Portuguese diet. She does an excellent job. I had the Obama bun cha, so named because of a bun cha restaurant in Hanoi where Anthony Bourdain took Barack Obama (At that location, the table they dined is now encased in a glass box.) Her version is rich and complex, better than the one in Hanoi. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. My waiter was a Brit ex-pat, and he was a blast to chat. He gave me some great advice about finding an apartment, because I might move here if Trump is re-elected. Politics aside, the restaurant is well appointed with memorabilia from Vietnam. One wall depicts street life in Ho Chi Minh City. I had an imported Vietnamese green tea. Vietnamese coffee was on the menu, and I am sure she could make a mean ca phe trung, the Vietnamese egg coffee. I will return here before I leave Porto.   It's a small, cozy place where food quality is greater than its quantity. There is a lunch menu for 12€ which includes a main dish, a salad, a drink and coffee. Honestly I think it does not compensate asking for it, salad is supersmall so you basically just paying for the main dish. Prices are almost all above 8€ for main dishes and those are more "interesting" than in a lunch menu. They have a good variety of options(desserts are not in the menu, you have to ask for them), food seems simple but they play with condiments a lot so it tastes delicious in the end. I asked for a tofu salad where the tofu was awesome, never had it that tasty. Overall the atmosphere is Great, they serve fast and the stuff is very nice. However, I wouldn't go here if was too hungry, definetely not a place to indulge in food.   Amazing meal at Vietview. The food was incredible - especially the chicken wings. Huge portions too. This is the first place we've been to since our trip to Vietnam a couple of years ago that has met the standards set in restaurants over there! On top of that, our waiter was incredibly friendly. He gave us recommendations on both the menu and Porto generally (we are visiting) and couldn't do enough to help us. Absolutely exceptional - a must visit.
