Staff were friendly and made me a new one but watch out as this could catch someone out. Lovely atmosphere.   The service was horrible. Food came out sporadically. The desert was forgotten until a server wandered past and seemed to recall that it was actually ordered. Also, the bathroom is so well hidden that I saw no less than 6 people who needed to get a server to literally walk the customer to the door. My wife had to live with a basic salad (had nothing vegan) but I had the most amazing, special Francesinha with Danish pastry. Not a high society dish, but a taste-fest nonetheless!   This is made out to sound like a great place for music. The singer was ok but this is NOT a music venu or place to dance. I'm sure it has its moments when it's a packed bar with some singer etc. But for the most part it's a bar with a not so great food menu.   For vegans: There are some options (sauteed mushrooms, patatas bravas and tofu spring rools) but theyre nothing special. And the portions are quite small since its tapas, but the prices arent proportional! I thought it was quite expensive for what it was. The patatas bravas were really not patatas bravas!!!   I booked this place months ago when I knew we were going to Porto. I am glad I did. It was a very positive dining experience from beginning to end. The styling is right for a relaxed bar vibe. The tapas were a good size, so we ordered 4 & that was enough. My partner liked his duck puff pastry very much. I liked the cod risotto the best. Their potato bravas version was a bit too thinly cut for our liking. The wines were smooth & the espresso martini was to my liking. My partner enjoyed his mousse sphere with a glass of port.   This spot was bang on. The music, the tapas, and the drinks were all very, very good and very reasonably priced. The service was fantastic, too! Great peppers padrones. They even recommended some other spots for us to check out in Porto. It was a really great place to kick off our time there and made us feel very welcome and eager to explore more of Porto's dining scene. The same owners have another restaurant called Raiz that we'd go to in a heartbeat if we're ever back based on the dining experience at Rua. If I had one critique at all, it'd be that we expected Fado music here and didn't get it, but the performer was still lively and fun. Great place and happy to recommend to anyone.   This is such a great restaurant. The servers were amazing and very helpful. The food was delicious, specially the pulled pork tacos, my girl had duck puff pastry and she had a delightful time eating it, for me amazing food can never have “enough right portion size” I always wish I could eat more but for normal people I can imagine they can stuff themselves pretty well.   Five stars for ambience and service. Only three stars for the food. We were so excited to finally get here after it was booked out most nights only to find the food, on the whole, very disappointing. The main exception was the burrata salad, which is beyond good, but we were pretty shocked when the cuttlefish came out over cooked and really looked like it was cooked from frozen, out of a packet (which wasn't reflected in the price). Some older people next to us complained that it was too loud to hold a conversation, which was true, but for us it was perfect, we saw it more like dinner and a show.   We found this small bar/restaurant close to our hotel for a late and fast dinner (23 o’clock) on our first day of holiday, just few minutes after arriving in Oporto. The place was quite crowded, but we could sit at the counter and enjoy a couple of good cocktails made with Porto. We have ordered pimientos de patron, fried cod fish, patatas bravas and pork tacos. We were very hungry after a demanding day and unfortunately the order went lost in the kitchen and we had to wait for over an hour... the staff was clearly sorry and invited our drinks to make up. It was highly appreciated. That been said, the food was delicious and the atmoshpere suggestive with live music, young and kind staff and nice furnitures. Overall, it was a positive experience.   Interior looks nice, has the potential for an improved vibe. Meat tapas were average, vegetarian tapas below average. Entrées arrived quickly, but the main tapas arrived quite late. Could be that the kitchen staff is overworked, or they leave a lot of time between entrées and tapas so you order one or two more drinks. Waiters look over your shoulder all the time and immediately grab your plate or glass the moment you finish it. So you feel like you’re being watched. Of course, this is not their fault, but likely a management issue. The music was nice. Lyrics and songs were in English, not Portuguese (did not grade this bit, but added it in so others know if they expect Portuguese music). Prices too high for the quality of the food, service, and setting. Gave me the feeling that I am a tourist ready to be milked for as much money as possible.   What a cool place to eat, the tapas dishes are full of flavour and very well presented. All the cocktails are crafted with care, we sat at the bar and each drink was made to perfection. We didn’t snap any pics of the food but it’s well worth visiting, the live music was an added bonus which was acoustic guitar when we went. Most enjoyable place visit would absolutely recommend it.   Great experience! We came here based on the reviews and it didn’t disappoint. We made a reservation online 3 days in advance for the weekend at the desired day&time. Staff is lovely and nice and the food was a rainbow of flavors in our mouth! Beside the shrimp croquettes that were not on our taste, the rest were amazing. They have by far the best tuna tartar I ate in several places in Portugal and I am sure it has to do with the avocado and coriander that in in the recipe. Beside that we had 5 other courses and all were wonderful. The sangria is just like the Spanish one, full of flavor and less sugar. So, I would definitely recommend the place for a nice dinner but maybe a late dinner, reserve the 9Pm slot and you will get full evening, enjoy the live music and the company of your friends/loved ones.   Music was sadly pretty bad the night we went. Staff were great. Shrimp croquettes were really good, but the sautéed mushrooms and padron peppers were quite oily. Their take on batatas bravas wasn’t good for us - very very thinly sliced potatoes, more like thin crisps with a thick mayo type sauce rather than a wet spicy tomato sauce.   The setting was lovely, the restaurant was lovely and we loved the live music. However the food was average at best. The menu reads more like a tapas bar food menu with many many fried food options. The portion of the cheek was a little meat and far far too much mashed potatoes and the tuna tartare had way too much avocado, the cod fritters were quite bland, and the prawn balls were dry.   This tapas bar was one of the best I have ever been to. We had no reservation but managed to still get a seat at the bar as we were there when they opened (reservation recommended).   Was recommended to come here and was off to a good start, but was quickly disappointed. Firstly, the dish we came for (cod risotto) was unavailable. The server brought us a bottle of wine and we order alternative options, but that did not make up for the food taking over an hour between small dishes. Our server avoided eye contact and was simply unhelpful throughout the evening. She also o refused to give us a physical menu when our phones would not load the QR code. Rather than help, she walked away. The live music was nice ambience but was way too loud and did not need to be plugged into an amplifier for such a small space. Honestly just Hungry and pretty irritated throughout the service. The buratta salad was a Spiritual experience on the bright side.   Live music, very fun! A guitar player named Vargas was playing. On a Tuesday evening you still need reservations (we reserved for 7:30, while the music started at 8:30). The food was good, however it’s more like a tapas-with-drinks place rather than a dinner place so I suggest coming here after dinner.   After reading great reviews of this place I had high expectations, well..............let's just say those were not met. The restaurant itself was inviting, we were greeted cordially, but beyond that, the service and food fell flat. The tuna tartare was a good portion but lacked any creativity in flavor and presentation. The "grated Camembert" was served warm with a spicy honey in a small cast iron pan and was flavorful, but was not served with any bread/crackers to enjoy, the bread had to be ordered separately, and wasn't enough for the cheese. The cocktails and music were average. If you're looking for exceptional tapas, I'm not sure this is the place. If you're looking for pretentious food and atmosphere, welcome.   We didn't make a reservation and tried to eat at this place. The staff was friendly enough to point out we could eat at a table until a certain time, or eat at the bar and stay for as long as we wanted. We took a seat at the bar and were amazed by how good the food was. We chose the stuffed portobello, cod fish risotto and fried squid. The stuffed portobello was incredible, the flavours were really great and the texture was superbly surprising. I would definitely recommend this to share. The cod fish risotto was really smooth and tasty. For dessert we had the tropical fruit cheesecake in a bowl. We were pretty stuffed from the 3 dishes we had before, but the cheesecake was perfectly fresh and sweet. This is a really good place to have tapas for diner, though I would suggest making a reservation or going early enough (7-8 pm).   Great music, although expect to be waiting until after 10 for it to start. I don't know what they play most nights, but there was a fantastic solo artist while we were there and he did a great job with a long set that showcased not only his own, but his friend and a fellow artists (from Spain) talent.   The nice idea of a street bar inside a bar is quite tempting. The food is quite interesting. We recommend the chicken spring roll and the Cod risotto. However food overall is extremely salty.   Amazing place! On a back street that makes you nervous but it comes alive at night! Drinks were great, good recommendations by waitress. We got tapas (camembert cheese, chicken spring rolls with curry foam, cod risotto, fried squid and cod fritters) - all amazing. Especially the risotto.   Really good tapas, we chose 4 dishes between my wife and I were feeling full up after arriving hungry. The tuna tartar was exceptional, however, the mushrooms, cuttlefish and shrimp croquets didn't disappoint either. Very laid back vibe, perfect place to unwind after a day's sightseeing.   We had high expectations and guess what ... the food has exceeded on all fronts. How they can deliver such high standard cooking in a bar is beyond me but oh boy the chef should get a medal . Cod fish risotto and tuna tartar deserve a special mention. Portions are generous for a tapas bar we thought and prices are very fair to the high quality you get.   The food was really amazing! Actually we went twice in a row because we wanted to try everything on the menu. So if you are traveling with two, prepare for the second visit!   Great and delicious food, we were worried that performance wouldn't start until midnight but found a guy with his guitar at 8pm... He played until 11pm and he was outstanding. We were here two nights ago and they didn't have anything we wanted to order, so we left...but tonight everything was available and they were super apologetic for the other evening and they remembered us from two nights ago-wow!
